STEPHANIE MAGGART

Stephanie has been training in the Montgomery area for nearly two decades and has owned Warehouse Fitness since 2007. Like many small businesses, she started in her garage back in 2004. Stephanie went on to grow the business from her 500 sq ft garage to the 2,500 sq ft warehouse facility she owns today.

Stephanie loves serving the Montgomery community and, in return, has had many loyal customers throughout the years that she absolutely treasures.

Stephanie believes that anyone can reach their health and fitness goals. Keep scrolling to hear about how Stephanie got started, the obstacles she has faced along the way, and how she has motivated her clients for years.

History.

At the age of 16, Stephanie’s life changed with the onset of symptoms she could not explain. She began to experience numbness and tingling throughout her legs. This eventually led to roughly an 80% loss of sensation from the waist down.

Stephanie would come to learn that there was a tumor wrapped around her spinal cord. After being confined to a wheelchair, Stephanie eventually underwent spinal surgery where she had a 50/50 chance of regaining the ability to walk. The surgery was successful, but doctors would not know if Stephanie was functional until she awoke.

Gratefully, Stephanie did show functionality after waking and then began the long, arduous process of recovery and relearning how to walk. It would be nearly a year later that Stephanie would actually be walking on her own.

Later, Stephanie would be officially diagnosed with Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. A very rare, inherited disorder characterized by the formation of tumors in many different parts of the body. The tumors most typically appear in young adulthood, however, Stephanie will need to be scanned and monitored her entire life.

Self Love.

Stephanie admits that the experience was still one of the hardest times she has ever gone through. Her determination and ability to quite literally get back up on her feet created the beginning of a self-care journey that defines Stephanie to this day.

Stephanie began working out solo and was fully self-taught (and this was before YouTube). Learning the gym and human anatomy consumed much of her time as she was growing her knowledge while raising a young family. After the birth of her third child, Stephanie started training friends and family out of her garage. She eventually obtained a small 700 sq ft facility and then later a 1300 sq ft facility (see an early picture on left). She has continued to grow her equipment range and clientele every year. Recently, Stephanie expanded her current location into a 2500 sq ft warehouse. Complete with offices and some new equipment

Stephanie knows the importance of taking care of one’s self physically, mentally, and emotionally. The ability to “control the controllable” helped Stephanie grow a passion for fitness. Where some may start a local business out of a passion to own a business, Stephanie’s passion is for helping others grow no matter where they are in their own fitness or life journey.
